"Confident and razor sharp" - Observer Magazine
"A fireproof parade of quick fire observational gags delivered with utter conviction" - Chortle
Zoe Lyons came to stand-up comedy out of desperation and after many years of being a committed under-achiever. After completing a degree in Psychology, she went on to have some enviable dead-end jobs including working on a banana farm in Australia, packing jam and being a dreadful waitress in some of London's best restaurants (Zoe has spilt sauces down some very famous people).
She created a huge buzz on the comedy circuit in 2004 when she won the Nivea Funny Women Award 2004 and reached the finals of Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny? competition in the same year.
Now a highly sought-after act on both the national and international circuit, Zoe also appears regularly on TV, including recently Mock the Week and The Most Annoying Couples of 2008, and radio - It's That Jo Caulfield Again (BBC Radio 4).
Zoe's first solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007 was recognised with a prestigious nomination for the If.Comedy Best Newcomer award (formerly the Perrier Awards). Her latest one-woman show, Mangled Mantra of the Messed-up Modern Mind, won the award for funniest joke of the Edinburgh Fringe, chosen in a public vote on digital TV channel Dave.
